This experience is really a great one, not just because it was free but the most important is i've learned lots of facts about my favorite coffee and how the farmers work hard to plant and harvest this beautiful berries.
Learned lots of things in that seminar, how to plant it and how it grows and harvest and sell. They are also giving free seminar sa mga farmers na interested magtanim ng coffee, free seedlings at fertilizer pa. At sila din ang mag momonitor ng mga plants if they are in good condition. What a nice offer so benifficial to all farmers! Parang gusto ko magkaroon ng coffee farm. When it's time to tour around the farm na excite ako, it is a one of a kind chance na makapunta sa napakalayo at napaka ganda at blessed na coffee farm. Isang maganda at memorable experience talaga! In that tour, step by step namin pinanuod how to crop and plant ang seedlings. Si Ate a lady farmer showed us how to cut the stem and where to cut it at pinakita din ng ibang Ate kung papaano itanim ang mga pinutol na parts. Sa tingin siguro madali lang ang ginagawa nila pero isang hard work ang magtanim at alagaan ang halaman na mamumunga ng berries na magiging kasama natin sa almusal at coffee break.
After the short tour and demonstration, rest muna then proceed to "magtanim ay di biro". Yes! I love it! After showing us how to plant and they let us do the planting and my blood rush with excitement. Ang saya at sarap sa feeling na magtanim. Holding a shovel, kuha ng lupa ihulog sa hole where the plant is standing and fill it. I also used my hand to fill the hole and make the soil more deeper to feel the soil and i felt so fulfill and proud.
Hay! What a great day that i never felt tired. After planting we get ready to packed out and say bye bye to all the greens and berries and to the people who spend their time showing and demonstrating us their crop at pati pag tanggal ng balat ng dried beans. We dropped by at the buying station where all the coffee beans from all over the nearby cities are brought and sell.
And that was my Tagum farm trip...me singing "Magtanim ay di biro, maghapon nakayuko." Magtanim ay di biro pero after some months mamumunga ito na magiging masarap na kape. It was really a wonderful day and experience. Thank YOU LORD!
Many thanks to the people behind this seminar. Thank you all and GOD bless you all!
